Finding Aid

Prepared by Kyler Andrew Culver, September 24, 2003. Updated by Penny White, July 2013.
.5 cubic feet (1 document case)

Physical Location: 12th floor

Historical Note

In 1974, a donation from Victor E. Buehrle made it possible to provide an inspirational setting and research center in the form of a room in the main library that would be open to the public, dedicated to the memory of those slain and wounded on May 4, 1970, and devoted to quiet reflection and study of the past, present and future. Subsequent actions on the part of concerned faculty and students brought together a number of memorials, resources and on-campus sites to make the room a center of the physical memory of May 4, 1970.

Scope and Content

This collection contains information on the May 4 Resource Room including files on its origins, meeting minutes and statements prepared by the ad hoc May 4 committee of the Retired Faculty Association, information about some of the artifacts housed in the room, and photographs. Also included are files relating to various refurbishment projects for the room.
