Professor Seymour Baron was a professor of Psychology in the spring of 1970. He was present when the shootings occurred on May 4 and is one of the faculty members, along with Glenn Frank and others, who did their best to calm students and keep the situation from escalating any further. The letters which comprise this collection are some of the letters he received after the University closed. They are representative of the kinds of exchange between faculty and students as they attempted to complete course work after classes were abruptly ended.
