Abstract: James Nuber was an undergraduate student at Kent State in the 1970s, including the time of the shootings on May 4, and served in such capacities as Executive Assistant to the Student Body President and a member of the Social Policies Committee, Student Organizations, and post-May 4 organizations such as the Center for Peaceful Change. This collection, dating from 1970 to 1977, contains primarily student government and student organizations' records, as well as Nuber's personal documents, some of which relate directly to the May 4 event or the May 4 annual commemorations.


Biography: James Nuber was an undergraduate student at Kent State University in the 1970s. He was active with student organizations, including Student Government and the Social Policies Committee, and served in positions such as Executive Assistant to the Student President. He was a student at the time of the May 4 shootings at Kent State and was involved with various organizations that resulted from the shootings. He graduated from Kent State in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.


Scope and Content: The James Nuber papers contain correspondence, newsclippings, student government minutes, notes, reports, articles, newsletters and other publications, flyers, as well as Nuber's personal correspondence, journals, and academic documents.
