Description An undergraduate student at Kent State University beginning in 1968, Stephen Titchenal relates his experiences on campus during the time of the May 4, 1970, shootings as well as his involvement in the aftermath of these events. He was a student in the College of Education and worked at the campus radio station, WKSU. He describes protests on campus that he witnessed and that he also made sound recordings of, including the burning of the ROTC building and the rally held on The Commons on May 4. He was an eyewitness to the shootings and relates his observations from that day. He also discusses being interviewed by the FBI, the copy of his audio recordings that the FBI made, and being asked to meet with U.S. Senate candidate Robert Taft and the mayor of the city of New York, John V. Lindsay.
