Biography

Raleigh M. Drake was born in Nebraska in 1902. He received his B.B.A. in 1926, M.A. in 1930 at Boston University and his Ph.D. at the University of London in 1931.

Prof. Drake was appointed in 1947 to the position of Dept. Head to the Department of Psychology at Kent State. He stayed in this position until June 1961 when he resigned as Dept. Head to return to teaching full time. Before working at Kent State he held positions as Associate Professor at Wesleyan College from 1931-1941 then Professor and Dept. Head at Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia from 1941-1947.

He published many articles on musical talent and authored and published "Student-Teacher Aids in Psychology" and many workbooks relating to psychology. He was the associate editor of Journal of Musicology which is no longer in publication.
