Box 2: The Richard Howe Collection
This collection is comprised of a number of handwritten notebooks containing
notes on canal water measurements, observations of canals, and accounting
information. Many of these notebooks belonged to Richard Howe who worked on the
Ohio Canal. Also present are maps, articles, and correspondence. The bulk of the
materials date from the 1830's through the 1840's.
